Sterling silver and enameled brooch "De Fem Svaner Fra Norden" (The Five Sawns from the North) designed by Erik Magnussen (Denmark, 1884-1961). In its original box with booklet.

This brooch features five swans, symbolizing the Nordic countries, and was designed in 1940. The brooch is known for its intricate design and fine craftsmanship, making it a cherished item among collectors.

Erik Magnussen (1884-1961) was a renowned Danish silversmith and designer. He began his career as an apprentice at Winkel & Magnussen and later studied under the Danish-Norwegian sculptor Stephan Sinding. Magnussen opened his own workshop in Copenhagen in 1909 and worked for various prestigious companies, including Bing & Grøndahl and The Gorham Silver Co. in the United States

Magnussen's designs were influenced by both Japanese styles and early French Art Nouveau. His work in America included modern styles that catered to American tastes, although this made it challenging for him to re-establish himself in Denmark upon his return in 1939.

One of his famous pieces, a brooch with a grasshopper inspired by René Lalique, is part of the collection at Design Museum Denmark
